02 The idea

Chocolate, after four in the afternoon.

There is a moment every day when someone wants chocolate but not caffeine and not sugar. Almost every existing answer asks them to compromise.

Decaf is processed. Herbal tea is not chocolate. Hot chocolate is both sugar and caffeine. Mushroom and chicory drinks are not cacao at all.

Cacao husk is the shell that is separated from the bean when cacao is processed. It keeps the aroma and the deep, dark character of chocolate, and it carries no caffeine.

03 What it is

An infusion, not a chocolate drink.

Brewed like a tea. Dark, warm and chocolate-forward in the cup.

The husk is dried and cut, then brewed the way you would brew any loose tea. What comes through is the chocolate side of cacao, without the sweetness of a drinking chocolate.

We are still finalising the blend, which is exactly why this page asks for your opinion before anything goes on a shelf.

04 The line

Three ways to brew.

The line is built around how strong and how dark you want the cup. Nothing here is priced or dated yet.

  • 01

    Starter

    The first cup

For anyone meeting cacao husk for the first time. Lighter, and the easiest place to begin.

  • 02

    Daily Ritual

    The everyday brew

The one we expect to be reached for most afternoons. Balanced between aroma and depth.

  • 03

    Connoisseur

    The deep end

For the drinker who wants the husk at its darkest and most chocolate-forward.

The line is still being tuned, and none of it is priced or dated yet. Nothing on this page is for sale.

05 Our story

It began on a cacao farm beyond Raub, Pahang.

Our founder grew up helping her parents tend their cacao trees — picking the ripe pods, then working through fermentation and drying under the Malaysian sun.

It was there she learned what cacao really is: not a candy-bar ingredient, but a farmer’s livelihood. And there she also learned the hard part of the trade — watching middlemen take a large share of what her parents and their neighbours had earned with their hands.

She later became a registered chemist and went on to co-found two businesses. The question that kept returning was why she had spent a career building other people’s brands and never proved her own ideas with one of her own.

Every harvest left one thing behind: the husks. BREWCOA is the answer to both halves of that story — a second life for the husk, and a brand of her own. It is built Malaysia-first, around direct farm partnerships with smallholders at fair prices, which is slower and harder than buying through a middleman.

The husk was the waste. Now it is the point.

06 Why the husk

What chocolate throws away, we brew.

Cacao husk is an agricultural by-product. It is produced in enormous volume wherever chocolate is made, and it is routinely discarded.

Brewing it instead is the whole idea. It costs less to work with than a traded commodity, which is what makes a premium cup possible at all.

The packaging is being specified the same way: plant-based pyramid bags, home-compostable liners, paperboard and soy-based inks. Those are the materials we are building on, not certifications we hold — nothing on this page is a claim of approval by any authority.

10 Questions

Questions people ask us.

Can I buy BREWCOA yet?

No. BREWCOA is pre-launch and not for sale anywhere, online or in shops. This page exists to open the waiting list and to collect honest feedback before we put a price on anything.

Is there a launch date?

Not yet, and we would rather not announce one we cannot hold. Join the waiting list and you will hear the date from us first.

Does it contain caffeine?

No — zero caffeine. That is the reason this product exists.

Does it contain added sugar?

No added sugar. If you want sweetness, it will be yours to add.

Where will it ship?

Malaysia first. Selected international markets follow, and shipping is confirmed by reply rather than assumed — especially for samples.

What does a sample request commit me to?

An honest review and your feedback. In return you get a sample pack ahead of launch. You tell us what is wrong with it as plainly as what is right — that is the trade, and it is more useful to us than praise.

Is the sample something you sell?

No. Samples are marked “Sample — not for sale” and are not a retail pack.
